Dr. Haoran Li
Dr. Haoran Li is an Assistant Professor in the School of Robotics at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, where he also serves as Director of the XJTLU-ChangingTek Robotics Joint Laboratory.
He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Mathematics from the University of Bristol, a Master of Science in Robotics with Distinction from the University of Bristol, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Vehicle Engineering from Wuhan University of Technology.
His research centres on dexterous robotic hands and vision-based tactile sensors, with the goal of designing robotic systems that match or surpass human dexterity and tactile perception.
He has published in leading robotics journals and conferences including IEEE Transactions on Robotics, IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, International Journal of Robotics Research, ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, IEEE ICRA, IEEE/RSJ IROS, and CoRL.
Dr. Li serves as Associate Editor of Robot Learning from 2025 to 2027 and has received honours including the IROS 2025 Best Student Paper Award and the ICRA 2024 Best Poster Award. His laboratory is supported by funded projects from XJTLU and the City of Suzhou.
